 y Week, organized by the CNCF Technical Advisory Group for Environmental Su
 stainability (TAG ENV) in collaboration with the Cloud Native Computing Fou
 ndation (CNCF), will take place from October 7th to 13th, 2024. This global
  event promotes environmental sustainability within the cloud native indust
 ry and the open source space, featuring both local in-person meetups and vi
 rtual sessions. The initiative highlights the importance of sustainable pra
 ctices in the tech industry, encouraging collaboration across continents to
  foster environmentally conscious innovations.\n\n\n\nBuilding on the succe
 ss of the 2023 edition, the upcoming Sustainability Week will focus on furt
 her integrating green solutions into cloud native technologies, with partic
 ipants from around the world discussing the intersection of technology and 
 sustainability.\n\nECO:DIGIT will also be represented at the event. Maria B
 auer, Project Lead at the Open Source Business Alliance, will deliver a pre
 sentation on the topic: "ECO:DIGIT – Measurability and Transparency in Reso
 urce Consumption of Distributed Software Systems." The presentation will ex
 plore the challenges of making the carbon footprint and resource consumptio
 n of digital systems measurable, particularly within cloud computing. Bauer
  will introduce ECO:DIGIT, a project aimed at creating a practical, open me
 thod to record and evaluate energy consumption across the entire lifecycle 
 of digital systems. This project seeks to enhance transparency, enabling co
 mpanies to adopt more sustainable digital practices in line with the 2030 A
 genda’s goals for sustainable industrialization, responsible consumption, a
 nd climate protection (SDGs 9, 12, and 13).\n\nRecordings of both in-person
  and virtual sessions will be available on YouTube following the event.
