DESCRIPTION:EnviroInfo 2025 is the 39th edition of the long-standing and we
 ll-established international and interdisciplinary conference series on lea
 ding environmental information and communication technologies. Combining an
 d shaping national and international activities in the field of applied inf
 ormatics and environmental informatics in making the world a better place f
 or living, the EnviroInfo conference series aims at presenting and discussi
 ng the latest state-of-the-art development on ICT and environmental-related
  fields. \n\nThe topic this year - Open Data, Open Science, and Open Societ
 y - promotes transparency, collaboration, and inclusivity in addressing glo
 bal challenges. By freely sharing data and research, innovative solutions a
 re fostered and informed decision-making is encouraged. Together, we can bu
 ild a sustainable future by uniting communities, researchers, and policymak
 ers for collective action.\n\nJens Gröger from Öko-Institut e.V. will give 
 a talk there on 19th September, 11:30–12:00, demonstrating how our ECO:DIGI
 T methodology can quantify the environmental impact of digital services—eve
 n at the edge.\n\nJens will showcase a practical example: a Raspberry Pi ge
 nerating a continuous video stream, akin to a surveillance camera. Using EC
 O:DIGIT, we calculate its full life cycle footprint—energy use, greenhouse 
 gas emissions, resource consumption, e-waste, and hazardous substances—and 
 illustrate how different technical choices, from local pre-processing to cl
 oud transfer, affect the results.\n\nThis talk highlights how ECO:DIGIT all
 ows us to compare technical variants, optimize hardware and software, and m
 ake digital services environmentally transparent, fostering continuous moni
 toring and a race toward the most sustainable solutions.\n\nThe EnviroInfo
