Shaping the Future of Sustainable Software in 2025
2024 was a year full of progress and key milestones for our project. Looking ahead to 2025, we anticipate further exciting developments, including the commissioning of our test bench – a crucial step towards practical implementation.
2024 was a pivotal and successful year for our project. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our network and all our partners and supporters, whose contributions, ideas, and commitment led to inspiring discussions and valuable knowledge exchanges.
A central theme this year was the promotion of transparency to sustainably minimize the environmental impact of software systems. We achieved significant milestones that bring us closer to our vision of a more sustainable digital ecosystem:
- Finalization of a comprehensive methodology: We developed and completed a methodology that goes far beyond energy consumption. For the first time, it also takes into account the use of resources such as water and chemicals.
- Presence and dialogue on key platforms and conferences: By participating in numerous events, we were able to share our vision of a more sustainable Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, raise awareness about this topic, and forge valuable partnerships.
- Development of our test bench: Our test bench, a central element of our work, has made significant progress, bringing us a crucial step closer to the practical application of our concepts.
With these successes behind us, we look ahead to 2025 with confidence. A particular highlight will be the commissioning of our test bench for initial trials – a major milestone on our path to transforming theory into practice.
